The beginning stages of planning a 7 day backpacking trip to Linville Gorge, North Carolina, in late May of 2013 has officially begun. It should involve about 65 or more miles of hiking, depending on the final routes of trails I choose. I'm fine tuning my gear selection, and deciding on my menu for the trip. I've decided to not only dehydrate some of my meals for freezer bag cooking like I usually do, but to pack a few Hawk Vittles meals, as well. I've had the pleasure of bringing them along on other trips and they are the most tastiest meals and recipes that I've ever had. Their website is here. I'm still undecided what type of stove I am planning to take along, either one one my many number of alcohol stoves I own, or my Soto OD-1R Micro Regulator Stove. I primarily do Freezer Bag cooking, so it's not really brain surgery, but I may end up deciding last minute.......
